Celebrating Neurodiversity

In recognition of Autism Acceptance Month this April, SOMA welcomed Tiffany Hammond, Black Autistic advocate, New York Times bestselling author, and voice behind Fidgets and Fries. Defining Development is proud to have partnered with various local organizations to bring this event to our community. Tiffany Hammond shared her family’s powerful story, which was the inspiration behind her children’s book, A Day With No Words.

There are far too few empowering stories of disabled individuals, and far too many families who feel unseen, unheard, and isolated. Celebrating neurodiversity goes beyond awareness and acceptance. Thank you to Tiffany Hammond for shining a light on this experience and sharing a beautiful story of connection and understanding.
