  • I am not sure which service is best for me and my child. What now?

Defining Development’s founder, Larissa Balik, is a licensed Occupational Therapist and certified DIRFloortime® Provider. Services are not meant to replace medical advice or treatment. Defining Development will recommend referrals as needed. Larissa is always happy to collaborate with other service providers.

  • How old are the children you work with?

Larissa has experience working with children from birth to 18 years old, but she does most of her work with children 1-8 years of age.

  • Will my health insurance pay for this?

We are considered an out-of-network provider and do not directly accept health insurance. For Occupational Therapy/ DIRFloortime services, we provide documentation and superbills, which you can submit for your out-of-network benefits. We support families in this process as needed, though we cannot guarantee reimbursement. Please send us an email if you have any other questions.

  • What hours do you offer appointments?

Depending upon availability, Defining Development works to find times that meet each family’s schedule. We do offer after school hours, and some parents love early morning appointments!

  • How long do you usually work with people for parent coaching?

Each coaching session is 60 minutes. The number of sessions depends on your parenting goals and family’s individualized needs. Sessions can be booked individually or in packages of three.
